Number Ones Top 20 on US Album Chart
Wednesday, January 14, 2004
Sales of the album outperform Hits Daily predictions
Michael Jackson's Number Ones, which has been slowly
creeping back into the upper echelon of Billboard's Top 200
Album chart, soared 39-15 on a 22% sales spike to 47,000 copies in its
eighth week of release. The greatest hits album has now sold just under
500,000 copies in the US.
Yesterday, we told you that Michael's album was going to come in at
around No. 34 on the chart. That prediction, from Hits Daily Double,
likely did not include sales reported directly from Sony via orders
placed at
www.mjcombopack.com
or through the toll-free number made available during the Number
Ones broadcast on CBS. Those orders were shipped last
week.
